Curriculum Enrichment and Wider Opportunities

Widney Junior School recognises that the curriculum goes beyond the subject knowledge and skills delivered in lessons, and that to sustain a positive culture within our school and to support pupils’ well-being, we strive to enable our pupils to be happy and engaged pupils.

During their time at Widney, our pupils get to experience a wide range of additional opportunities and experiences that support their learning in the curriculum. There are numerous opportunities across every subject to provide all children with a chance to shine and gain confidence.

We want to provide rich and memorable learning opportunities that engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement. We take the whole school to visit the theatre every year and there are opportunities across the curriculum for pupils to experience awe and wonder.
